Zwap |ˈzwäp| |ˈzwɑp| |ˈzwɒp| (also swap )
verb (
zwapped |ˈzwɑpt|, zwapping |ˈzwɑpɪŋ|) [ trans. ]

Welcome to BookZwap, we're a community of collectors of historic books, novels, gazettes, newspapers and comics - all pre-1923. Our goal is not just to collect and swap books, but to make them available to the world so that others can share in our passion for these items.

Our idea is simple, not many of us can afford to own a huge collection of these works, so we will bring the books to everyone via PDF so that we can all appreciate the works without having to go to museums or art galleries.

As a community the idea and concept is simple, why not publish the books and booklets ourselves, we can then review the books electronically and decide if we want to add them to our personal collections or collect the original. Even if we don't buy the books themselves we can still enjoy them as they were intended to be enjoyed.

In higher education and schools there is tremendous value in sharing our heritage with the next generation, just as we ourselves derive pleasure and knowledge from our collections.

In order to help fund the venture we will also provide a
Zwap* space in collaboration with eBay and other collector sites. We will also actively promote bookstores that sell the original artefacts so you can get your hands on particular items you must have!

We also have forums to discuss different topics on books and book collecting. All the books on this site are
out of copyright so you are free to download and print facsimiles for your private collection - we ask that if you use the facility to redistribute or sell copies that you consider making a donation to the site through our PayPal account.
